Meet Dr. Ziering
Dr. Ziering’s innate passion for healthcare and drive to pursue a career in Family Medicine began at an early age. Both he, his siblings, parents, and grandparents were seen by the same Family Physician (who also delivered Dr. Ziering) and he found the concept to be comprehensive, inspiring, and familiar. After attending Muhlenberg College and graduating Magna Cum Laude in a dual major of Biology and Natural Science, he went on to receive his MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (Rutgers).
He attended the Robert Wood Johnson/Somerset Medical Center Family Practice Program, graduating with the Resident Educator Award by Colleagues. He was recognized as a National Speaker in various aspects of healthcare both physical and emotional. Postgraduate, Dr. Ziering opened his own private office and served as a Clinical Researcher for Experimental Medications involved in the first wave of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Ever eager to learn new material at the time of the “wave” of antidepressant development, Dr. Ziering became an educator on the subject for the University System. Dr. Ziering’s passion to remain on the frontlines during the HIV/AIDS pandemic mirrors his approach in caring and for patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has been available to his patients via telehealth and has remained in-office so that patients could be treated in person, should the need arise.
Shortly after joining Morristown Medical Center in 1992, Dr. Ziering became Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine. Aside from traditional family practice caring for both newborn and senior alike, he continued to research areas new to medicine. His additional studies taught him about Transitional Medicine and Healthcare unique to the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Community). He became a Medical Director for LGBTQ Healthcare while maintaining his traditional practice base. Dr. Ziering wishes to create a safe haven for ALL families regardless of race, beliefs, religions and sexual identity.
To reinforce the feeling of comfort, Dr. Ziering’s practice to this day does not have the appearance of a medical office. The exam rooms are designed to look like small living rooms, affording face to face contact in a calm and tranquil environment. Aromatherapy, water fountains and sound soothers are also utilized along with the joy of having a Therapy Dog, Bentley (a 15-pound cockapoo), who is in the office to help allay fears and concerns.
During Dr. Ziering’s tenure of 30 plus years, he has been recognized for his exceptional work, receiving over 20 different honors and awards through his career including Top Docs in the Castle Connolly Guide to the Best Doctors in the Tristate Area, New Jersey Magazine, Inside New Jersey Magazine, New York Magazine, Ladies Home Journal, US News and World Report, Best Physicians in Women’s Healthcare, Best Physicians in LGBTIQ Medicine, Most Compassionate Doctors and America’s Most Honored Doctors among others. Dr. Ziering is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practitioners, an honor bestowed to those Board-Certified Family Doctors who maintain a more than active role in personal education and exemplary expertise in the Specialty of Family Practice Medicine.
When Dr. Ziering is not caring for his diverse patient base and focusing on healthcare, he enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, cooking, swimming, traveling, movies, theater, and the arts. He and his husband reside in Randolph, New Jersey; they have two grown children, a granddaughter, and a dog.
As a member of this membership-based primary care practice, you will be able to receive enhanced supervision of specialty consultations and follow-ups, and coordination of your care.
More Connected Primary Care
By having more time to spend with each patient, Dr. Ziering can ensure enhanced connectivity through a more convenient, and collaborative approach.
Why Choose Us
How It Works
Concerned about numerous healthcare trends that are negatively affecting doctor-patient relationships and the way care is delivered, Dr. Ziering has collaborated with Castle Connolly Private Health Partners (CCPHP) to create a unique, concierge or membership-based practice model that provides a more optimized healthcare experience for both patients and providers.
In this model, Dr. Ziering has considerably fewer patients than typical primary care doctors. This allows him to have enough time to provide each and every patient with personalized, unhurried care. Members of Ziering CCPHP pay an affordable annual fee to take advantage of a wide array of member benefits and enjoy a more convenient, connected, and compassionate approach to healthcare.
Membership fees are payable to Ziering CCPHP, LLC, a business entity formed by Dr. Ziering and CCPHP that is separate from his medical practice. Dr. Ziering provides all professional services through his practice, Tom Ziering, M.D. Since the membership fees do not pay for any insurance-covered healthcare services, we recommend that our members maintain their health insurance. Contact us for more information.
As a physician, my greatest satisfaction is derived from working closely and comprehensively with my patients in an unhurried environment, so that I can be my patients’ advocate and advisor regarding longevity and quality of life.
In order to alleviate some of the barriers in today’s healthcare environment that interfere with my ability to continue to practice this way, I have collaborated with Castle Connolly Private Health Partners, LLC (CCPHP), to create a new concierge program called Radwaner CCPHP. The program provides my patients with a wide variety of membership amenities to enhance their care experience, such as access to the innovative SENS Solution® Wellness Program, which includes a personal health coach who collaborates with me to optimize their wellbeing.
The patient-physician relationship is what I value the most as a practitioner. With this model, I will be able to provide a connected, convenient, collaborative care approach on a more ongoing and consistent basis. Ultimately, this program allows me to get back to putting you, my patient, first.
